Invader Zim returns to Nicktoons Monday, June 21, 4:30 p.m. Eastern Time!

Three years ago, Nickelodeon cancelled the popular cult series, Invader ZIM, leaving fans angry and bitter towards the #1 kids network. But after the phenomenal sales of the first two ZIM DVDs, the upcoming action figures by Palisades toys, and the outcry of fans, Nick is bringing ZIM back from the dead. Production has already begun on season three of Invader ZIM. Jhonen Vasquez, the madman behind the series, will not be onboard this time around. Nick president Herb Scannell says that the series ‘takes an all-new approach’ next year, with all-new characters, such as Dib’s baby brother, Gib, Zim’s girlfriend Zee, and a mysterious group known as ‘The Resisty’ Everyone’s favorite robot, GIR, will also have a new voice this season, by Spongebob himself, Tom Kenny. The animation style will take a dramatic change, animated by Klasky-Csupo, whose talents can be seen on other Nick shows, such as Rugrats and As Told by Ginger. Amanda Bynes makes a guest apperance as a new girl in Zim’s class that Dib falls for. The new season, which begins next November, will debut with the episode ‘friend or foe’ in which Zim and Dib start to realize they have a lot more in common than once thought. Could they possibly become friends? Teen sensation Arron Carter will preform an all-new song for the intro, titled ‘out of this world’ which will also be available on Nick’s new CD “Nickelpalooza.”

i think it means that it shows at 4:30 in the eastern coast and it shows at a differnt time in the western coast. like 11:00 or something. idk……

They’d butcher the show. A new direction? Without Jhonen? That’d be horrible. The show would be nothing without Jhonen’s sense of humour and just his whole touch.
And new animation? To be honest, I absolutely detested the art for Rugrats and Ginger, and that was one of the main reasons I never watched them.
The new theme song already sounds like diahrrea to my ears. Aaron Carter? Ick.

Somehow I don’t think this is going to be a good thing. Taking a “new approach” on something with a cult following usually tends to be a case of jumping the shark. Changing the art, the voice of a beloved character, and, of course, the fact that the creator is completely not involved… I worry that everything that was great about Invader Zim is going to be lost in the switch. After all, studio execs tend to be rather out of touch with what the audience actually likes about a show.

Youre right, Cathy; if it returns,the best thing would be to finish the planned but not finished episodes, especially the mid-productions (the ones which have a script or audio recordings); because these are planned by the original creators of the show and has surely a rest of the old spirit in it, which build up Invader Zim to this real jewel of animated series!

Why Nick Would Lose Viewers On July 5th
1- GIR is pretty much the center of attention for the female side and hilarious quotes for male OR female side, his squeaky voice is what keeps the show alive rather than an annoying voice for a monkey on CN and a kitchen sponge on Nick
2- Zim wouldn’t need a girlfriend, he’s an ALIEN dammit! The only way an alien gets a girl is in the fanfictions, besides, by the looks of it, he already has like 50,000,000 girls breaking down his door, thats why i am his bodyguard
3- Dib only has one sibling, and his mother is either too old, divorced, or dead to make a new one
4- what’s Arron Carter gonna do? Sing something that sounds like Liberty’s Kids’ completely unfitting theme song?
5- Tak is already ‘THE ONE’ for Dib
6- Dib and Zim? My god, Nickelodeon president, what are you gay or something? Yaoi-lover in disguise?

As much as I adore IZ, Nickelodeon is the only one with the power to bring it back. As stated in his blog, Johen has no RIGHTS to taking his own creation to other networks. It was in the contract he signed with Nick. He did state in his blog however; that they (Nick) can and may continue the show without him, but he has little say in the matter.

I think there’s only a slim chance that we will see Invader Zim rise from the dead, but it’s still possible. Now that avatar tla is off Nicktoons, they’re going to need another popular show. Perhaps if we all watch IZ when it airs on July 5th (to the best of my knowledge) it will catch the networks attention. Who knows? In the meantime, I suggest we make room in our minds for another obsession….Dexter, perhaps? ;b Stay weird my friends.

Hey guy’s none of what is above that is posted by Chris is true, sorry to disappoint. Invader Zim is back on the air (YAY!!!) but there will not be any new episode. I read this blog (in the link below) and it did have a lot of true and interesting points. One of them was that Klasky-Csupo went out of business 2 years ago since their last big project was “Bridge to Tarabithia” AND THAT WAS 2 YEARS AGO. And on their website that is the first thing listed in the “what’s new” section of their website. Don’t believe me check their website in the link below and click on the tab called “what’s new”. Another thing is the the so called “new” group known as The Resistry was already in the series before it got canceled and was in the episode called “Back Seat Driver From Beyond The Stars”. The list goes on and on. Read all of the entries in the blog and the other links below and it will prove all of this. I’m just as disappointed as you guys but come on even if it was true, Spongebob as Gir… Zim having a girlfriend… Dib’s baby brother Gib… Dib having a love interest… ZIM AND DIB AS POSSIBLE FRIENDS… and to top it all of Jhonen Vasquez wasn’t going to be a part of it. I would have rathered they finished the series off they way it was supposed to with the whole Invader Dib thing then have to deal with that crap anyways.

It’s not canceled. It’s off this week so they can run specials of other Nick shows. It will be back next week I’m pretty sure. The commercials are still on regularly.

They only are playing repeat episodes, it’s not that big of a change. I highly doubt that they will make new episodes when they haven’t even asked Vasquez yet. If zim has new episodes they will start animating the ones that have the audio already recorded (with Rikki as Gir) and will only then be truely triumphant.

Um…no offense to anybody, but this article seems completely made up. First of all, it’s way past June or July, and a new season has NEVER been confirmed by Nickelodeon. If the show was so popular the way it was, why on earth would they change it?
I smell blood in the air…. hehehehe! It’s 2011, people!! There has been NO REVIVAL of the show!! Nick is just so FILTHY with their money obsession, they ABSOLUTELEY couldn’t do what that rumor-poster said! Here’s why:
1. GIR having a different voice and personality= about 56% of the female fanbase GONE
2. ZIM having a girlfriend= about 79% of the female fanbase GONE
3. Dib having the HOTZ 4 another girl= about 38% of the female fanbase GONE
